The Boomslang (Dispholidus typus) is a relatively small, venomous colubrid snake native to sub-Saharan Africa.  Boomslangs are mostly diurnal, or active during the day, and arboreal.  Their diet includes lizards, frogs, small mammals, birds and bird eggs. During cool weather they will hibernate for moderate periods, often curling up inside the enclosed nests of birds such as weavers. (Wiki.) The venom of the Boomslang is primarily hemotoxic, meaning that it disables the blood clotting process.  Hemotoxins destroy red blood cells and often lead to deterioration of organs and tissues.  If bitten by a Boomslang, a human can die of internal and external bleeding if not treated with antivenom in time.
