Beetle In Desert

The harlequin beetle (Acrocinus longimanus) is a large tropical longhorned beetle native to the Americas, especially from southern Mexico to Brazil in South America. The harlequin beetle feeds on sap and is given this name because of its elaborate pattern of black, red and greenish yellow markings on the wing covers of both sexes. Adult Acrocinus longimanus are very large insects with bodies that can measure nearly 76 mm (3 inches) in length. (Wiki.)

Black Beetle

The Hercules beetle, Dynastes hercules, is the most famous and largest of the rhinoceros beetles. It is native to the rainforests of Central America and South America. Hercules beetles are highly sexually dimorphic, with the females generally being larger-bodied but much shorter, as they lack horns entirely. The larval stage of the Hercules beetle will last one to two years. The Hercules beetles picks up the foe with his horns during fights, flies and slams it down breaking the foes head. The Atlas beetle, Chalcosoma atlas, is a species of beetle found in southern Asia, especially Malaysia, remarkable for its size (25–130 mm). The Atlas beetle is, like other beetles of the genus Chalcosoma, notable for its size and the horns that is seen on its head. The larva of the Atlas beetle is known for its fierce behavior, including biting if touched. Trilobite Beetle Larva

Duliticola is a genus of beetles of the family Lycidae. It is named after Mount Dulit in Borneo. The females stay in the larval form and are about 40–80 mm in length. They have a flat dark body with large scales over the head, resembling trilobites. Hence the informal names “Trilobite beetle”, “Trilobite larva” or “Sumatran Trilobite larva”. The males are much smaller, 8–9 mm, with a beetle like appearance. Most are found in tropical rainforests, notably in India and South-east Asia. (Wiki.)
